Rewind is a first-of-its-kind nightlife destination in Long Island City that combines craft cocktails, dining, and karaoke in one immersive experience. The dual-concept cocktail and karaoke lounge reimagines familiar Asian flavors with modern, playful twists across its food and beverage menus.
The name Rewind reflects the way a flavor, a song, or a shared experience can instantly transport someone back to a specific place, memory, or moment in time. At its core, Rewind is experiential, designed to engage taste, sight, and the full spectrum of the senses.
Here, every moment is worth a Rewind.
The Rewind experience begins at an unassuming staircase leading to a hidden speakeasy storage room filled with nostalgic relics. At its center sits a vintage 1980s boombox; pressing the “REWIND” button opens a concealed door and transports guests into a cocktail lounge anchored by Asian artwork, traditional instruments, sculptural details, and hand-carved murals featuring Tang and Song dynasty poetry — a setting that feels both transportive and contemporary.
Beyond the lounge, large wooden doors open onto a dramatic red corridor, setting the stage for a collection of immersive karaoke rooms. Each space celebrates a distinct moment in music and culture, from a contemporary recording studio to a 1990s Hong Kong-inspired parlor and a nostalgic Mandopop room lined with vintage records.
The journey culminates in an immersive event space designed for large celebrations, corporate gatherings, and brand activations. With expansive screens, dynamic audio, and flexible social areas, Rewind offers a distinctive journey through cocktails, music, art, and nostalgia.
Drawing on experience in one of Asia's most dynamic bar scenes, Ken relocated from Taiwan to lead Rewind's cocktail program.
His career spans beverage development, concept design, and bartending, including time at several of Asia's 50 Best Bars. He approaches cocktails not simply as drinks, but as thoughtfully designed experiences that translate culture into flavor.
Drawing on Asian tea culture, coffee, and seasonal fruit as design materials, his work explores the relationship between taste, memory, music, and emotion — turning Taiwanese and American influences into a language uniquely his own.
Alex leads Rewind's kitchen with a philosophy rooted in familiarity, nostalgia, and reinterpretation.
A graduate of the French Culinary Institute, his career spans Michelin-starred restaurants and some of New York's most respected Asian dining rooms. He honors the flavors people grew up with, reimagined through contemporary technique and thoughtful presentation.
Inspired by Taiwanese street food, Japanese izakaya, and Korean and Chinese flavors, Rewind's menu reimagines iconic Asian comfort foods as playful, modern share plates designed to pair with its cocktail-forward experience.
Between Sips is a weekly tea cocktail experience curated by Ken Chen, Beverage Director of Rewind.
Built on the belief that the most meaningful moments happen between the drinks — not just in them — this series explores the beauty of single-origin teas, highlighting their unique flavors, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage through thoughtfully crafted cocktails.
Each session brings together exceptional bartenders, thoughtfully selected spirits, and tea-inspired cocktails to create an evening where every guest leaves with a new memory, a new perspective, and a story worth sharing.
Rewind was created by a group of New York-based hospitality operators united by a shared passion for elevated cocktails, hospitality, karaoke, and the experiences that bring people together. The founding team draws on experience developing and operating iconic concepts, including TabeTomo, Tomokase, The Office of Mr. Moto, The Residence of Mr. Moto, and The Parcels of Mr. Moto.
